Death Valley Double Century - Spring 2009
2/28/2009

I once again rode the Death Valley Double Century Spring Edition on Saturday, February 28th. I have attempted this particular ride five times before and only completed the ride once. Problems such as weather, hot foot and just giving up cause me to DNF this ride. I'm proud to say, I finished the ride this year. I was determined and the weather Gods were on our side. It was absolutely perfect cycling weather. it never got over 85 degrees or under 45. There was hardly any wind.

My friend and fellow hall of fame cyclist, Doug Goodwin, provided a warm place for fellow cyclist Dave Clemes and myself to stay in beautiful Pahrump, Nevada. We started at 6:10 am and finished some14 plus hours later. We rode 197 miles and climbed over 10,000 feet. It was an incredibly beautiful ride.
