Day 4.  Paso Robles to Santa Maria. 95 Miles, 3000' of climbing

The gear trucks in Paso Robles. We were lucky because since Kathryn was a part of the Massage Crew, we got to sleep off the tent grid. No neighbors nearby! I could snore and not get any bad looks in the morning! Also, we didn't have to drag our gear to the trucks. One of the perks in being in massage!

The 6:30 line! Since it was going to be a long day, many riders wanted to get an early start. The route starts at 6:30.

Route 46 from Paso Robles out to the coast. Too major (really not so) climbs called the "Evil Twins" at the beginning of the day.

Rest Stop One. Les and I stopped to un-hydrate.

A couple of shots of the climb up the first "Evil Twin".

Scott would greet us climbing all week with his cheerleader digs!

A beautiful shot at the top if Morrow Bay. Absolutely stunning view. This was the official half way point to LA!

The crowd stopping for their Half-way shots. Sorry, not me. Been there, done that. Besides, there was a cinnamon roll in Pismo Beach waiting for me.

The start of the seven mile descent to the coast. Since we had a stiff headwind going down, I was going to take it nice and easy.

The coast at Rest Stop Two.

Our cave people at the rest stop. They all grunted the whole time. Too funny.

Just past Cayucos and on the way to Morrow Bay.

San Luis Obispo on the way to lunch.

Lunch at Cuesta College

Pismo Beach. I LOVE THIS PLACE. I could easily retire here. Maybe....

This is what I rode for today. And, hell yes, it was worth it!!!!

On the way to Guadalupe, rest Stop Four. The Air Force was waiting for us!

Like I said!
