Day 2. Santa Cruz to King City, 105 miles, 2600' of climbing
Bike Parking in Santa Cruz at 7 am.
The Ugly Mug in Soquel. I didn't stop for the first time in years. They always open their doors and give free drinks and pastries to all ALC riders. Awesome! I was in a hurry to get to King City, so I kept going.
Rest Stop One in Watsonville. It was still very cool.
Out in the ag fields of Monterey Valley
The beauty of the Salinas Valley. A 20 mph tail wind didn't hurt either.
Mom and dad out on the ride. They do this every year when they aren't riding the thing. They support us all for the whole week. I love them like they were my own. Rich, their son and rider is one very lucky man!
The famous skinny dip bridge before Greenville. No, I didn't participate!
The Cookie Lady and her family. This woman bakes cookies starting March for all the riders! Awesome and the cookies were great too!
An aerobatic plane flying inverted over a private landing strip near our route. I swear he was performing for us. Dad, from Mom and dad fame told me he supports the ride! Very, very cool!
The ride into King City would be very fast. I was averaging 28 mph! Oh, did I tell you we had a great tail wind?
